The Cinnamon Trust

The only specialist national charity for older people and their much loved, much needed companions.

Our aim is to build friendships with the owners who come to us for help. The Trust can then extend this friendship by introducing volunteers that will help with the day to day care of a pet when this has become difficult. Together we make sure that these little heroes who mean so much remain happy and healthy.

Nationally The Cinnamon Trust helps over 150,000 people a year with 158,000+ animals and runs two home from home sanctuaries, we could not do this without the support of our volunteers and supporters.

What does the Cinnamon Trust do?

A network of 20,000 volunteers “hold hands” with owners to provide vital loving care for their pets. We keep them together – for example, we’ll walk a dog for a housebound owner, we’ll foster pets when owners need hospital care, we’ll fetch the cat food or even clean out the bird cage, etc.

We have a national network of fostering volunteers who can provide care for pets whose owners face a spell in hospital – volunteers take pets into their own homes and supply love and care in abundance until owner and pet can be reunited. When a pet is in the Trust’s care either short term or long term because the owner is in care, the owner is kept in touch with visits, if possible, or regular photos and letters.

The Cinnamon Trust also provides long term care for pets whose owners have made arrangements with The Trust well in advance, so owners have peace of mind in the knowledge that their beloved companion will have a safe and happy future, this service is called Pet Profiling.
