Leaving a Gift in Your Will?
Pause to Think | Paws to Thank
We deeply understand the cherished bond between people and their pets, a relationship that often faces challenges due to age, infirmity, or illness. The comfort, companionship, and joy pets bring us is invaluable, especially for those without family or experiencing isolation due to poor health.
For older people and those affected by terminal illness, one of the most pressing concerns is the long term care of their beloved pets. Through our pet profiling service, we offer peace of mind, ensuring the continuation of your loving care if you’re not there. We provide guardianship and financial security for pets who are Pet Profiled with us, without the use of kennels or catteries. As well as sparing no expense to follow our promise of extending the loving care their mums and dads have provided in life for the rest of their days.
Any person of any age can Profile their pet with us. Although a lot of people make such a provision later in life or when there is a level of concern about their health, pet owners are welcome to make provisions with us, whatever their circumstances may be.
We are entirely funded by donations and legacies, allowing us to offer all of our services at no charge. Your support helps us maintain this vital connection between people and their pets, ensuring that love and companionship continue even in the face of adversity. A gift from you will allow us to continue to be the safety blanket that every bereaved pet deserves, as we have been for the last 40 years.
Leaving Your Legacy
If you would like to leave a gift in your Will to help The Cinnamon Trust to provide love and care for pets long into the future, we have some standard wording that we are happy to provide, that you are welcome to alter, as a helpful tool to start you off. Click Legacy Wording to download the template.
We are also very pleased to provide The Cinnamon Trust Free Will Writing Scheme to our members and supporters. We are able to offer this service with the help of two providers: The National Free Will Network and Elm Legal Services.
The Cinnamon Trust pay a special rate to cover the writing fee of a simple, basic single, or mirrored Will. There is no obligation to include a legacy to The Trust but of course we hope that our supporters will do so to aid us in recouping these fees. Between our two providers, our Free Will Service is available to residents of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Power of Your Generosity
We are truly grateful to those who, after providing for their loved ones, choose to include a gift in their Will to The Cinnamon Trust. This thoughtful gesture ensures that we can remain true to our mission. We can continue to be here, arms wide, ready to embrace the next bereaved pet who needs our lifelong care and, with the help of our volunteers, provide life-changing support to the pet owners who need us in their communities.
Over the last 40 years, legacy gifts have supported us to grow and develop some impressive numbers.
- 20,000 Volunteers Nation-wide
- Support over 152,000 people
- Help for over 156,000 pets
- Provide sanctuary for 200+ medically dependent pets
In 2023, legacy income enabled us to cover £772,339 in veterinary bills for our foster families. £121,132 of pet food for our foster pets with specialist dietary requirements. £170,191 of supplements and essential pet supplies.
This kindness contributes vital funding for our home-from-home sanctuaries. A haven for over 200 medically dependant and specialist-need pets. This funding guarantees that our residents can live out their twilight years in comfort and safety, with: home cooked meals, expert veterinary support, friends in abundance, and no shortage of love and attention.
The paw prints you leave behind
“We are extremely pleased that Mum left a legacy in her will – she left money to three other charities too but I am pretty sure that The Cinnamon Trust will have been her favourite – we have always been an animal-mad family and cannot imagine life without pets. Your fabulous work will have been something that she would have been very proud to support.
I’d like to reiterate that we are delighted that The Cinnamon Trust will benefit from my mother’s estate and we know that the money could not be put to better use.”
– Dr. Jenny McCann remembering her mother Mrs. Gillian Saunders
We Love All Animals!
Companion pets come in all shapes and sizes; between our sanctuaries, we provide specialist lifelong care for: cats, dogs, ducks, quails, geese, doves, budgies, chickens, pigeons, finches, horses, ponies, sheep, cows, pigs, squirrels, and tortoises.
We always say, “If you love them, we do too.” So if your companion pet isn’t on this list, we don’t mind. In fact, we are excited to get to know another fabulous species and, if ever needed, provide them with the perfect environment and support for them to thrive!
And this list doesn’t include the hundreds of other animals that are in Forever Foster homes or have provisions in place for them to come into our care should their owners pass away, through our Pet Profiling service.
