Sarah, her husband Lee and their four children, Oliver, Elle, Will and Imogen, took on an incredible family challenge this year – running the Great North Run from Newcastle to South Shields in support of The Cinnamon Trust.

Between them, they covered an amazing 78.6 miles!

Running together was particularly meaningful for the family. Sarah and Lee have taken part in the Great North Run many times, and their older children have previously run for charity too. This year, all four children joined their parents on the start line, with a little family rivalry over finish times along the way!

The family chose to support The Cinnamon Trust because of their own love of animals. After recently losing their two older dogs, Scooby and Ludo, they now have a Springer puppy, Albert, and know just how much joy and comfort pets can bring.

Sarah said: “We can’t imagine the heartbreak of having to give up a family pet at a time of difficulty, as animals are such a comfort and provide amazing emotional support.”

Their incredible challenge helped raise awareness and funds for our work supporting older people and those who are terminally ill to stay together with the pets they love.

A huge thank you to the whole family for running, fundraising and supporting The Cinnamon Trust. What a team!
