I will be running the London Marathon 2026 in support of The Cinnamon Trust, the only UK charity supporting older people and the terminally ill care for their pets.
I feel so lucky to have been given this incredible opportunity to run the London Marathon for The Cinnamon Trust. Working at one of the Sanctuaries for the Trust is such a rewarding and fulfilling experience. It has really given me an insight into how important the work we do is, and the idea of helping support this amazing charity keeps me motivated while training for this marathon.
About the charity:
With the help of thousands of volunteers nationwide, they provide hands-on assistance to pet owners across the country when any aspect of their companion's day-to-day care poses a problem.
The charity helps with tasks such as dog walking, cat grooming, transporting pets to vets , cleaning bird cages and much more. The volunteers also offer their homes to pets whose owners are facing a short-term spell in hospital, ensuring the beloved companions always have a home-like environment to be comforted and kept safe until they can be reunited with their owners.
The Cinnamon Trust also offers a Pet Profiling service, allowing all pet owners to plan for their companion’s future by entrusting their pet into the forever care of The Trust. They never use kennels or catteries.
All pets entrusted to them are cared for in home-from-home environments, either in a carefully chosen new forever foster home that suits their needs or, if more appropriate, by welcoming them into one of their two sanctuaries in Devon or Cornwall.
