Our Partnership with TrustedCare
A few years ago, The Trust recognised that one of the tragedies older people face is having to part with a beloved companion because they have to go into a care home. This transition often meant they had to rehome their beloved pet, causing immense sorrow and stripping away much of what they considered “home” to begin with.
As enquiries about pet-friendly care homes became more frequent, we began creating a list of trusted care homes we wholeheartedly recommend based on our experience. Our list grew exponentially and we found updating the list was taking us away from what we do best which is providing day-to-day practical care to keep owners together with pets. This is why we have partnered with our friends at TrustedCare, they hold a comprehensive list of homes and offer help and support to those seeking residential care.

How does it work?
TrustedCare is an online directory and referral website for social care services, including care homes, nursing homes, and home care agencies. With their extensive knowledge and information on care providers across the UK, they will act as our trusted point of contact for any enquiries from owners looking for a care home to welcome both them and their pets.
TrustedCare will be able to provide up-to-date information on a care home’s facilities and advise on what to consider when moving in with your pet.
They use the Care Quality Commission (CQC) or the Care Inspectorate databases, location dependent, along with information submitted by care providers about the types of care support and facilities. They also collect and publish reviews from people who have used the listed care homes and home care services, allowing prospective care seekers to understand the quality of care based on others’ experiences.
